Specific areas of aging on the face can be problematic for both adult men and women. Drooping eyebrows, lines on the forehead, and the development of “elevens” between the eyebrows can cause patients to look older than they really are—or feel! In situations such as this, patients might start to consider the benefits of undergoing elective plastic surgeries to restore their youthful appearance and improve their overall look. Dr. Daniel S. Tresley is a board certified ophthalmologist and an experienced plastic surgeon who is pleased to offer solutions for patients to consider, including that of the eyebrow lift.
What is an eyebrow lift?
This procedure, the eyebrow lift, sometimes called a forehead lift, is a plastic surgery procedure that is performed to help lift the forehead skin and reposition the brows and eyelids for a youthful look. Dr. Daniel S. Tresley finds that when performed by a skilled professional, it can dramatically improve one’s appearance and help them appear younger!
What happens during an eyebrow lift?
During the eyebrow lift, a patient is placed under general anesthesia in a hospital for the procedure. Once comfortable and properly anesthetized and sedated, the procedure begins. Dr. Daniel S. Tresley starts by making an incision along the hair line, behind the ears, or along the creases of the upper eyelid, depending on the areas being addressed during the surgery. Excess skin may be removed to help tighten the forehead area and bring the brows upward for a more youthful look. The entire procedure can take about an hour or two to complete. Patients can leave the hospital during the same day as this is typically an outpatient procedure that does not require monitoring of the patient following the surgery. Patients are released with post-operative care instructions, and will want to book a follow-up appointment for a week or two after.
